Cancellation and Refund Policy

At the traditional Japanese house guesthouse "Hobo-ya," the following cancellation and refund conditions apply depending on the accommodation plan you have booked.

1. Cancellation policy

Cancellation policies vary depending on the accommodation plan you have booked.

If specific cancellation conditions are displayed on the booking screen or in the booking confirmation email, those conditions will take precedence.

2. Cancellable plans

For standard cancellable plans, the following conditions generally apply.

- Up to 3 days before check-in: No cancellation fee - 2 days or less before check-in: 100% of the accommodation fee
- Same-day cancellation: 100% of the accommodation fee
- No-show without prior notice: 100% of the accommodation fee

For example, if you check in on August 10th, cancellations made by August 7th are free of charge, but cancellations made from August 8th onwards will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the accommodation fee.

3. Non-refundable plan

For plans marked as "Non-refundable," "Noncancellable," etc., 100% of the accommodation fee will be charged as a cancellation fee from the moment the reservation is confirmed, and no refunds will be given in principle.

Please carefully check the reservation details, date, number of people, etc., before making your reservation.

4. If different conditions are displayed on the reservation screen.

Cancellation policies may differ from the usual due to season, peak season, promotions, special plans, or other reasons.

If specific conditions are displayed on the booking screen or in the booking confirmation email, those conditions will take precedence over this policy.

5. How to cancel

To cancel your reservation, please use the cancellation link provided in your reservation confirmation email or any other method instructed at the time of booking.

Simply canceling your order does not guarantee a full refund.

The actual refund amount will be determined based on the cancellation terms and date of your reservation.

6. Regarding refunds

If a refund is applicable, the amount minus any applicable cancellation fees will generally be refunded via the payment method used at the time of booking.

The time it takes for the refund to actually be reflected in your account or card statement after the refund process is complete varies depending on the card company, financial institution, or payment service provider.

7. Cancellation or early departure after the start of the stay.

If you shorten your stay or leave the hotel early after check-in due to your own reasons, we will not, in principle, provide a refund for the unused portion of your stay.

8. In cases where accommodation cannot be provided due to circumstances at our facility.

If, due to our facility's fault, we are unable to provide the accommodation service you have booked, we will, in principle, refund the applicable accommodation fee.

However, in the event of natural disasters, accidents, transportation disruptions, requests from government agencies, or other circumstances beyond the reasonable management of this facility, we will respond on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the situation and applicable laws and regulations.
